She often recalls Isaiah 60:5 when she sees her patient smile for the first time: “Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice.” Patients look into the mirror, and in that instant, their radiance shines through—on both the outside and the inside.

Dr. Cantu knows deeply that what is reflected outward is often a mirror of what lies within and that "a happy heart makes the face cheerful (Proverbs 15:13)."  While she works, she often reflects on Job 8:21: “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.”
